This is the digital edition of our Wine Map of South Africa.

The Dutch planted South Africa s first vineyard in 1655 near Constantia, and by the 1780s, Constantia sweet wines were acclaimed worldwide. In this way, South Africa is often considered an old world wine country in the new world.

Covers all WO (Wine of Origin) areas: Geographical Units, Regions, Districts, and Wards; with a generalized wine map of Africa and detail maps of Stellenbosch, and Northern and Free State.
